Almost decided on buying one of these, one i'm looking at is 06 reg, 4k miles for £13k.

Has anyone owned, driven one?

i really like them and they are quite quick really

Having said that I don't know if I would pay 13k for a renault these days as the reliability is shocking

im a renault mechanic and have been out in a 225 a few times. Quiet quick, with a bit of torque steer, handles v. well imo. As far as reliability goes i think people are far to harsh about renault on a whole these days. That 2ltr turbo engine is a solid bit of kit and with the proper maintainance is more than happy to take a pounding every day of the week. I like the looks of the car aswell, especially the lairy orange colour, but thats not to everyones taste.

That engines a good lump, but if considering a 225, i'd only even think about that Cup one with the diff as it makes an immense amount of difference.

Good cars, but in that particular market, theres better out there.

I do like them, I would own one but they loose a hell of a lot of money very quickly.

Nice looking, grown on me. Mate of mine had one as a company car but had to get the 2.0 deisel 'GT' version cos' of fuel and tax.

They are pretty bad on fuel to the same extent as an astra vxr (funnily enouugh ).

Residuals aren't gonna be amazing either....

VXR is good on fuel, what you talking about 220 miles to a tank so far and still have half a tank

so true and yes the diff makes the difference - plus is the only one in its class to have a LSD as standard

No they dont? They have good residuals......all Renault Sports have good residuals. I wanted myself but just didnt want to stretch to what is essentially Focus RS money.

Everyones got their own opinions on these but a friend of mine has just got the 230 with the slip diff and says it blows his g/f's VXR out of the water for drivability....as mentioned before everyones different.

Go on the trader and you'll struggle to find an 06 stock 225 for that kinda money so this is either a one off or a Cat D

Tell me why 2003 stock 225 for for anything from 10-14k?14k is entry for early Trophy money

230 miles to half a tank in your VXR?

Pure motorway driving, or unsure what that right pedal does?

230 miles and not long after our trip comp is flashing for more juice. But shes driven like shes meant to be
