"These photos are spreading around the net like wildfire (excuse the pun) showing an Audi RS8 prototype doing laps on the Nurburgring before catching alight and ending up as just a roll cage and 4 wheels covered in foam. I have no idea where the actual body panels went as there are still bits of rubber left from the tyres but hee haw of the shell itself. Thankfully the test driver from Team Audi escaped uninjured though its a shame the same cant be said for the car."

The panels on the car would have been composite and the reason why the tyres still have rubber on them is because heat rises...

Anyone know what happened (though an engine fire seems to be the cause)?
But yea, this is what prototypes are for, but the sound of the V10 (what about the W12 or a W16 as used in the Bentley Hunaudieres..would be a killer) out of the lambo replacing audis V8 sounds Though apparently there looking to detune it....im sure it wouldn't take much to un-detune it

Am I wrong for liking this
Admittedly the bit on the rear quaters is a little too far fetched, but the front and rear bumpers look awesome .
