My 12v is getting to 68,000 miles, so if i renew my insurance for another 12 months it's probably going to need: clutch, timing belt, and possibly head gasket territory
So think i'm going to try and sell for say £1200
Then looking at a car for sub 500 quid to get 12 months out of it at least
Friends brother will sell me his v reg escort 1.6 finesse for below 500: had belt done, clutch twice been well looked after by his mum and dad and he drives it sensibly most of the time
but- has got few bad scratches (mates a fucking terrible driver when it comes to parkign ect ) and dodgy ford alloys because he buckled the originals + has bit of rust on back arches
or- looks for something similar on ebay or autotrader....... probably get a better car but not know the history but be more picky with rust scratches ect

Mine has done nearly that many miles and is still going strong. I wouldn't worry about it.
If you hate driving it so much, then you answered your own question.
