Very quick, but the evo bogged down in 2nd, (missed gear prehaps?).
That RS200 driver can't launch for toffee. If its an Evo then its 700+bhp, and a 0-60 of 2.5 seconds... Would be right with the Audi.
The 1st race is the best, on thats short drag strip the lead changes 2-3 times (Beetle vid 1).
Theres a vid of a very modified Audi 20v on youtube. Makes a lot of noise, and does shift, but not all that impressive. Those old 20v motors arn't that great.
And wtf is with the german lad with a calander

Sorry, but over 900bhp from a 25 year old 2.3 is impressive IMO.

Not really. From the footage i've seen, they just don't seem to go as quick as they sound (thoughts of Saxos and Corsas with 20" tailpipes )
Im not saying its a bad engine at all, just not amazing.
Robin, you can get any peak power from an engine if you slap a big enough turbo and fire enough fuel into it... Peak power means squat (well, except for the pub boys), usable power is everything.. All the big powered old 20v lumps i've seen footage of have no power until like 5000-6000rpm, then about 2000rpm of usable power, thats it. (im not talking about the VAG 20v units).
I can't see youtube at work, but the video i am thinking of is a 4wd Quattro, black, with big rev counter stuck on the dash. VERY long ratio'd gearbox.
The silly powered BMW and that Orange Manta and such from that end of the world are mental machines though. They get some awesome machinery out there.

I think you should wait to see the 3 vids I posted then, none of them are the car you mention, all of them are quick.
They might not be quick compared to a modern car with a modern 4wd system, BUT, the Quattro system (pre-haldex) is 30 years old, the engine is about the same. To me, running a 10 second 1/4 mile in a car that old is impressive.
