This was the trackday where it threw the valve guides.... and the final straw for it (for me)

some 1/4mile

how it used to look.... was a pretty decent shell... bought from auctions up in Kinross. Low Mileage 1.0 12v. Was to replace the green shell the i splattered off a granite wall.

day I bought it

and as sold.... minus all the engine etc

hope it does you proud

today's work was hamperd by having wrong brake pads

so ordered new ones.

and the rain and im ill

still not one to give in easyly

i got the front suspension built up and fitted, the disks on. and painted the calipers, also front braided brake lines fitted too.

these are all new bolts, and re-built calipers "by me " and the wrong pads

and heres one side built up minus the disks and its all torque'd up now aswell

i also made a start on the rear, im missing a spring seat, so i cant put it back together till i have one, and i got half way throu fitting the rear brake lines and it was raining into the garage "wind changed" so had to call it a day.

right todays job involved getting the rear done.

so

the problem, both rear cylinders have had the bleed nipple broken off at some point, so had to sort that first
there are 2 types of rear cylinders for a corsa b
1 cheap, one not so cheap, lucky me,,,,, i had the not so cheap ones

busted cylinder

new and old cylinder

so i fitted the new cylinders and the braided rear brake hoses

and then moved onto stripping the rubbish out of the arch and waxoiling it

passenger side

drivers side

next job is to possibly get a new drivers side rear bearing as it seems noisy, and spring seats, fit suspension, and front brakes finally

adam, it was the beam for the car, as the 1.0 12v has different rear cylinders to every other model of corsa, unfortunatly, they are double the cost.

chris, i still need to build engine, strip and paint interior, buy, windows, bonnet, boot, sort wiring and electric and fit engine so not even halfway yet.

todays progress thou

built up new calipers, and fitted them

and had to turn the car around, so this is how she stands atm

why did you bother with a spare and expensive tyre?

What tyres are they Yoko whats?

Didnt you fancy a cut slick type like 048's or 888's?

Is the primer on the passenger door top?

maybe look out for a cheapo 2nd set of wheels to put track tyres or even slicks on... they make a huge difference over 'road' tyres

isnt that a bit backward

the race oriantated, lighter wheels for road....

the standard heavier wheels for track

yes ive done it a little backward.
will all change when ive worn out the prada's
the astra wheels have tyres on them, there rubbish and will be "dispensed of"

then when prada's are wore out the mo's will see the track
as i learn get used to track days etc
