My name is Stuart Maconie and I am from the north of England. Some time ago, I was standing in my kitchen, rustling up a Sunday brunch for some very hungover, very northern mates who were 'down' for the weekend. One of them was helping me out and, recipe book in hand, asked: "Where are the sun-dried tomatoes?"

"They're behind the cappuccino maker," I replied.

'Silence fell. We slowly met each other's gaze. We did not say anything. We did not need to. Each read the other unspoken thought: we had become those kinds of people, the kind of people who had sun-dried tomatoes and cappaccino makers, the kind of people who did Sunday brunch. In other words: southerners.'

Well worth reading jus for the first comment made about Doncaster

to all my southern sun-dried tomato eating banter buddies

I like Dave Dutton's "Completely Lanky".

Everything you need to know in order to speak like a proper Lancastrian sithee.

I don't eat sun-dried tomatoes.

Your location says 'south' does that not bother you?

No, because all of Yorkshire is great

The books about a guy who is a radio producer who works for the BBC. He's originally from the north & he's revisiting it after living down south for years. Its quite funny

Your location says Northampton, doesn't mean you like black pudding, whippets and coal does it?
