It's just been on the news. Some kid from Cheltenham has been offered £8.5 million for a website he has designed. He declined stating he is not in it for the money. A decision he will live to regret i would think.

Surely it's not just the website they are offering 8.5 million for?
Anyone can make a website regardless of how clever it is.
Unless he has patented it, or it makes fuck loads of money.

Could be a smart move, assuming that 8.5m was based on an expert valuation and what the site represents is worth that then turning it down will give it great publicity and there probably a healthy injection of new users making it in the long run maybe more valuable.
That said I haven't even seen the site.... could be shite and the company made a bad decision if so he should've gone with it.
