Here we go again my friends, its that time again when a new project must start to save me from insanity.

Went to look at the Corsa GSi that is in classifeds last Wednesday, the caribic blue one with the blown headgasket, it was in good enough condition so put a deposit down on it.

Car is generally in fair condition, few scratches on the drivers door and the passenger rear quarter looks like it has been shot with an BB gun but thats nothing a few days in a bodyshop can't rectify. Chassis is in excellent condition no rust on the chassis rails and the fact it has 12 months MOT is also Brucey Bonus.

So went and got the car yesterday, pretended to be have broke down and got the AA out to deliver it to Mr Lee Mitchell for him to do a complete overhaul on the engine, which was started the minute we turned up, two of the cylinders are filled to the brim with water and the starter motor has gone on it, again I have a spare one thats at Lees house and Lee has loads of spares hanging around as well

The wiring inside the car is diabolical, it looks like someone with absolutely no idea has wired up a stereo at one point and completely butchered it, again nothing that cannot be rectified for pennys by someone with half a brain cell.

At first this was going to be a runabout, but I believe Rachel who actually bought the car has had other ideas so expect this to be as good as the Nova and then some.

Car is lowered already and as ATE calipers and discs and a top notch Clifford Alarm on it, so its a good base to start with, interior is in mint condition as well, its gonna need a new parcel shelf as thats been butchered and so has the rear quarter shelfs which will need replacing.

Another bonus is that it has C16XE and a full CAT back exhaust which looks fairly new.

So a new project begins and give a thanks for Lee Mitchell for getting her running again, and the AA man for delivering her on a A-frame to his house from Milton Keynes.

Word up Peace O

Like Teddy before me, I am half tempted to leave it standard including the wheels, even Rach suggested that this morning whilst in bed, but just get the bodywork sorted and fitted a few select upgrades.

Do Vauxhall still list the entire sideskirt and arch sets for the GSi in their part departments?

I'm used to them telling me that everything for the Nova is no longer listed.

It doesn't need much to get it tip top again, I just think the last couple of owners planned to run it into the ground

Lucky we got our hands on it before it was to late.

Yeah most of the problem with that rear quarter is with the dents, strange that just 1 quarter panel has dents and the rest of them are dent free.

Strange you say that Cole, Lee found today that the wiring for the lambda sensor on this engine seems to have been played about with.
