Port Douglas
i went there 7 years ago and loved the beach, suitably named "4 mile beach"

hired some bikes from the apartment office and enjoyed cycling round town and along the beach. v

I'm off to Australia for two weeks in August.

5 nights in Sydney, 3 nights in Melbourne and 5 nights in and around Brisbane.

I'm off to Auz in summer i think to see my sister in Brisbane. While i'm there i'll be treating it as if i live there...jsut to see if i like it. Then i'll decide if i'm going to sell up and go there for good

If i sell everything including my flat, i should have a nice little wad of cash to take with me

Neither really.

Booked everything individually, but staying in hotels etc. not really backpacking it! Also using internal flights rather than road trips.

Just got to sort out accom. in Brisbane then its sorted. But we don't want to stay in Brisbane itself for 5 nights so are trying to plan where to go around Brisbane. Possibly hire a car there.

Ill be contemplating the same as well, im meeting my friend whos living in Brisbane and hopefully she'll convince me.

im booking it all individually, barrier reef dives, surf lessons, fraser island safari, gold coast, byron bay, sydney, youth hostels everwhere.
Cant believe how cheap the internal flights are compared to coaches.

why dont you just read your original comment. 'Sydney is not all its cracked up to be". i responded to that comment by saying that its much better than any other Australian city. i dont understand why you are getting so upset

If you had actually been there i might understand... i dont get why people would say "its not all its cracked up to be". it has everything and more compared to other aussie cities
