I think ive done this one before, but this is now, and heres the picture...

Just sold my car have two options, a local guy is selling his white s2 for £2k, 92k miles, 11months MOT, 5 month tax. Is also missing back seats and needs new mirrors plus a minor dent on side which is apparently getting sorted tho.
ORRRRRRRR
China blue GTI, 53k miles and FSH, some mot and tax, not sure how long, s reg, £2.6k

I dont know why I want the rallye compared its just the feeling of owning a rallye you dont get with cars such as a GTI but it makes it up in speed.

IMO the gti looks classier depending on colour!

Don't know how the drive will be much different.

Weight? Unless it's being used as a trackday / 1/4 slag is a few KG's that important.

On the other hand the GTI is more comfortable, has all the luxuries, has the 16v lump, goes better, more tuning potential.

Why not a white GTI?

That rallye looks really ropey, dents all over the passenger side (bad smash perhaps) and the panel gaps on the bonnet/headlights/wing looks a mile out

I'd stay well clear

IMO that rallye looks like a bit of a state. I wouldn't be buying a 106 in that price range with that many miles.

Can i ask why you sold the S1?

Warning obviously stupid people in this thread...

Buy the GTi and STRIP IT!!!

Stupid trying to make the rallye as quick as Gti! Look on rallye register - most people have converted their S2's to GTi's for a reason!! 8v's are shit!

Got one dent where a women reversed into him. The panel gaps look dodgy but it looked fine to me on closer inspection. Im so confused. A agree with Paul on speed but a rallye is a rallye hmmm
