hello guys, am looking into buying a manifold for my x16xe and wondered what manifold is better?

A pro-tec 4 into 1 stainless steel mani fold or?

A janspeed 4-2-1 manifold?

Which would get the better performance gains and sound?

cheers

Janspeed.

Protec ones are crap, they sit too low and scrape on the floor all the time.

what rob said. janspeed are a far better design but I have a protech one on mine at the moment. the design of it is ok but its the collector and flange that are really bad, fortunately I have the facility to chop that up and improve the design.

length of primaries and the design is the same as a BTB 4-1. its the design of the collector and flange that is wrong.

it's not just the flange that hits the floor though, its all the tubing before the flange aswell

well if you buy a 4-1 for an x16xe you will always get that. I wasnt talking about the scraping issue, just the design from a performance perspective.

mine has never scraped.

Ive had both on my Gsi, both fit well a provide a similar gain.

as said, I had clearance issues with the pro-tec so fitted a janspeed.

pro-tec was raspy, Janspeed gives a deep tone..

whats the Cat got to do with a manifold? you can use the original cat with an aftermarket manifold.

coz where it is on mine it's bolted right underthe standed on my sport and if i get a aftermark it one, with a 4-2-1 then there'sno room for it unless i fit it after the manifold!!

Sorry to sound rude, but that makes no sense, a manifold is a manifold, if you replace it, it will still attach to your cat.
Mine fitted to the standard cat perfectly.

i presume when you say sport you have a x16xe? x14xe? if this is the case you shouldnt have any probs
