Shooting happened outside bar right near my uni, was at night though.
One of my mates (Corsa E-tecs brother) was stabbed dead at a house party, by one of his 'mates'.
You don't think a stabbing is much, until it happens to someone you know or a loved one etc.

"The defendant was out drinking with friends in Reading. He had an altercation in a public house with the victim, Scott Davies. He was thrown out but the two met outside again by chance. The victim, Scott Davies, attacked the defendant with fists. Two friends of the defendant joined in to help him and in the ensuing struggle the defendant drew a butterfly knife he had taken with him and stabbed the victim nine times in the course of the incident which lasted a total of 32 seconds"
I had seem him during the day in town, I was with my then girlfriend shopping and he asked us to stay in town with him for drinks Luckily I knew who he was meeting up with and they are fools so declined his offer.

how can you stab someone to death and be out in like 5/6 years... :/ what ever happened to giving them a long deserved sentance, bastards hate this countries legal system
someone tried to stab me once, ex boyfriend of a gf at the time, came at me with a kitchen knife but i managed to disarm him, i got a nice scar from it though where he slashed me across the chest, and his sentance? 90 hours community service to do in a year and had to pay me £200 compensation... what ever happened to attempted murder lol

The other two are a couple of complete and utter fcuking fcukwits, Kev was a sound bloke until we left school and we all went our own ways, he went the wrong way and started hanging around with those idiots.
He has done 7 years now, so be out in around 3 to 4 years.

if you stab someone without planning itor premeditation its manslaughter. That doesnt carry a 25 year sentance. They then have about 10-15 years for carrying a knife and manslaughter.
Pleading gulity will then reduce the sentance by upto HALF which means they have only 5-7 years left and possibly let out early due to good behaviour.
This is the way the courts work at the moment very easy to lose large parts of your sentance.
