Found these advertised on SXOC.
Aldi are doing an air compressor and associated gubbins for a good price. Bought an air compressor for £60 odd, and three tools (impact wrench, air drill and air ratchet) for £45 or so.
I know its Aldi, but their stuff is made from decent german companies usually and the power tools are often made by Bosch, but rebadged for the cheaper market. I've found that the hand tools are the same ones as the Clarke ones that Machine Mart sell, but at less than half the price. A few on SXOC have had them for over a year with no problem, but they have a 3 year warranty

Should make my life much easier. Comes with a load of bits too, including air gun, gravity fed spray gun, air brushing kit and more.
Might be of use to someone on here, especially as its quite cheap.

My Dad bought a big compressor from Netto, plus vernier calipers, air gun, loads of other bits and bobs all pretty good quality.

Will be ok for small panels, but obviously not the whole car.
I've done a bit more research, and they're made by Omega Wolf, who supply B&Q, Screwfix Direct etc.
At the end of the day, for £105 and 3 years warranty, you can't go wrong.

ive got a simmilar compressor and the same impact gun, it gives it a good buzz to loosen the bolt but it wont keep going for long before the pressure has to build up
it is a good buy though

Saw this in the paper, looks like a nice little bargain for people tinkering on their driveway.

Have just tested it.
It fills up, stops when its full.
Then I used it but it didn't start up again to keep the pressure up
Surely it should?

Will only start up again when the pressure drops below a certain point AFAIK. Have you put oil in it?

Make sure you put some oil in it! SAE30 oil, available from Machine Mart.

I've definately put that oil in it, up to the correct point.
I'll test it again tonight and keep my fingers crossed!
