how strict are your bosses regarding desks? up until now we have been allowed pretty much anything on our desks pics folders etc.

now its been altered ur allowed a company mouse mat company mug mat company mug monitor 1 pen and paper

its caused lil bit of up roar at the minute. just wondered if any body elses company is like this

PS doesnt affect me much i leave on 23rd

Desks should be tidy, it gives a good impression and makes life alot easier.

My desk gets really abd, but is always tidy when i leave at night, nothing worse then coming in all groggy to papers and crap everywhere!

clear desk policy looks the most professional

when i worked at Zurich one lass had completely plastered her desk in all things pink, and i have 2 terracotta chickens on my desk

At the momment my desk has 3 mugs 6 plastic cups, a water bottle, a grolsh pint glass, blue tac everywhere and a tin of superspray adhesive that the builders left, which i now glue peoples mouse matts to there desk with

To be honest its a regulation for any contact centre subject to BS7799 / ISO9001.

That stipulates a clear desk policy.

In my last job it started out i was allowed anythng, i had posters from PVW all over the partitions etc, then it got strict!

I've heard of the being desk lay outs in company's where the keyboards has to be in the correct position, monitor, mouse, drink etc.... thats a bit too far imo.

clear desk policy applies for when you have gone home do to the possibilty of the cleaners reading sensitive information.....

Only need a tidy desk at the end of the day so it can be cleaned.
No point trying to keep it tidy all day then having to sift through papers to find one thing you need

was the same when i worked in the ntl call centre,we was only allowed a bit of paper and pen,tea with a lid on cup or bottles,wasnt to bad surfed the net all day long aslong as we done the work they didnt mind too much!

Clear desk policy here too. Kinda makes sense though as I work in a bank.
