I needed to change the discs and pads on my calibra a couple of months ago and when i got a price from VX i fell off my chair, so decided to get some motor factor discs and pads to bridge the gap untill i could find an upgrade later.

Got some from autovaux with free pads. Fitted em and away we go....

1month in and a get a strange clicking sound when braking and the brakes are squelly as fuck.

So got my vx mechanic to strip it all down files the pads check the sliders and piston etc etc etc
Sliders were fine, piston was questionable and most likely cause of the clicking sound as i fear it may be sticking.

So bolted it all back together again and 6weeks later clicking ensues and squealing re-appears only quieter.

So im going to junk the lot and wish id never bothered.

I want to get a set of these:

But at roughly £1k for a set i cant afford them

So alternative is not obviously as impressive but seems worth it:

LMF 308mm

BUT i have the older style turbo calipers with the slightly smaller discs the add mentions that you need the later turbo calipers.

I have heard a rumour that the veccy gsi calipers i used to have on the corsa are the same?!

Anyone know if thats true? I need new brakes!! (looked at monaro HSV brakes but they would require new hubs, porka brakes possible but mucchos hassle and added expense)

Any other suggestions are welcome id ideally like to stick to the sub £500 bracket

Presume their just Astra Turbo disks and pads, with a spacer braket that LMF are selling ?

Maybe you could just upgrade to those? How about Astra VXR brakes? Because of the VXRracing upgrade, there seems to be a few sets about last time i checked
