...everyone knows I had my crash. If I get a shockingly high renewal come September, like £2k, am I entitled to leave the insurance company for another, that gives me a cheaper quote?

Just seems strange to me how they're going to have to pay out nearly £3k, after I only paid £1k insurance, yet I could leave them in September!?

Anyone else done this?

hmmm but you should have claimed off who crashed into you?

I'm talking about me claiming on the fully comp part, then someone else on the 3rd party.

my insurers paid for it, then they claimed it back off other insurer, as it was complicated

this is whole point in insurance, if we had to pay for all damages possible, then no one could afford to insure their car, thinking about it, not just cost of your car, but you could hit into ANYTHING....imagine writing off a DB9 and your insurer having to pay out £110k+

You can leave whenever to go wherever you want.

If you have an ongoing claim though you'll get loads of not a chance mate and any who will quote will be loads of dosh.

My mate has totalled one clio, cost 4k + 5k for the lampost he hit then Hundreds for the wall. Then drove into a 55 Plate Audo A3. That cost like 2k to fix.

He's left now. Insured with another company.

Sounds pretty good - just did a quote with Churchill, with exactly the same services (courtesy car, legal protection) I get with Zurich. £1119 with no claim declared, £1252 with the claim declared - bargain imho.
