My computer suddenly stopped workin the other night when i wasn't even using it, just turned off and now won't turn back on. The fans come on for about half a second then it goes dead again :-( i'm guessing it's a psu problem? I've not got time to piss around trying to find the problem otherwise, so i'm gonna upgrade while i'm at it and sell the old bits that work. Its been a while since i've looked at pc bits, but i was thinkin about gettin AMD 4600 dual core. Could anyone recommend a motherboard for it? I think it's socket am2? Amd what type of ram do i need too?

there is a load of decent Asustek motherboards on ebuyer. Just have a look through and pick which one meets your needs. Some have onboard sound etc

i think that mobo will support DDR2 RAM upto 8gb of PC7200

Get the fastest you can afford, also crucial ballistix kits are very good. if it was me i'd go for 2x 1GBmatched pairs of PC6400 as its good stuff for the money.

Just tried a mate's psu on my machine and no luck. The fans only come on when that four pin connector with black and yellow wires is disconnected, but obviously pc won't boot up without it either. Guessin my old mobo is fucked? Ah well, should have new bits tomorrow :-)

Inflated prices?! Are you alright in the head or what?!

You show me somewhere thats cheaper than them on all mainstream parts.

I agree with the customer service bit though.
