Ukrainian striker, don't know much about him tbh other than we've agreed a summer signing deal for him from leverkusen on what looks like a free.

Views, any experience of him?

I cant see him being anymore though. I expect us to sign a big name in the summer, so starting two would be Kuyt and whoever that is....therefore just a squad player.

You've said that for every single player you have been linked with as if there are no players big enough for your team. Accept the fact you're shopping in a market one tier below the big boys, huge investment or not.

Yeah, I expect so on both counts.

Hammer probably expects us to sign someone on the next tier down...that'll be a few steps up above Celtic then

Why are you dragging my team into it, so you look better?

We can't even begin to compete with you in the transfer market, we can hardly compete with Championship clubs we just don't have the financial clout. You might go out and sign a great player that'll score 20+ goals a season you have the attraction and the money to do it but when do Liverpool sign the truelly big names? They don't.

We didnt because we've never had the money. Weve always had to try to sign emerging talent...Alonso, Kuyt, Hyypia, Agger, etc. as we couldnt afford £20m on one player.

Thats different now, we have the money and players do want to play for us. So Id be very suprised if we dont compete with Utd or Chelsea in trying to get big name players.

I'd be surprised if you did tbh, history suggests this to me.

Also emerging talent Xabi Alonso? over £10 million on an emerging talent?

History suggests it....we've been under the same owners for 50yrs ish, weve just been bought out by new people wishing to pump money into the club....what has history got to do with this now then?

Oh, and I would class Alonso as emerging.

We didnt buy him frm a big club, he is young and is now worth a lot more than we paid for him.

Would you class Walcott and not an emerging talent...he cost 10m. How about Ronaldo when Utd signed him?

Will you refuse to support them if they bankrolled the title then? You have a lot of strong views on Chelseas transfer market activity or is this only because its not your club?

I personally don't think you will go out and spend £30 millions all over the planet, isn't something Liverpool do.

We arent going to go out and spend 500mil on a team, like Chelsea. Not even 100mil IMO.

But what I mean is that if a player comes up for sale (Villa maybe) costing £25m then we now have the money to buy that one player, as Utd have done of the years. But what I dont mean is that we will only go out now and spend 20m on 5 players every season.

again not going to happen, club has been bought with ZERO debt on it.

The Glaziers put all debt on the club, Gillett and Hicks have taken any debt on personally.
