Well some of you may remember my black corsa project. That is now being stripped. The shell has been donated to a mate and a 2.0 is going in it. But all the bits off it are going on my new shell, (escortgti.com's old one)

Here is a pic of the black sri:

And here is the new shell as it stands pretty much:

So far what ive done is:

Remove the front shocks,
Remove Radiator
Remove Wiring Loom
Split Ball Joints

If its dry tomorrow ill get the driveshafts out, split the gear linkage then lift out the x16 xe block and gearbox. I have a 1.6 8v engine in the garage that ill make an attempt to fit at the weekend, then if i finish that fit the bumper an lights interior etc. The car is lovely to work on. Everything comes off easily and how it should. 10mins to remove front shocks, i wish all cars were like this one.

I have these wheels in the garage aswell so ill throw them on instead of the sri rims:

Ideally i want to get it to look like this for pvs:

For pvs it will definately have the skirts, smoked lights, I have the front bumper and grill, ill need to save my balls off to afford a set of speedlines though.

Ill update this with more piccies when i work on the car next.

yeah but would have been cheaper to buy rather than build. only building allows you to do it over time but still costs more in the long run.

not that this matters. gd luck with it

Off college tomorrow, so gona fit the rear lights and interior etc.

Heres the latest pics.

Well i spent a few hours on it today, and from the back it actually partly resembles a car now

Got the rear seats in, bit of a pain to do, fitted all the boot trim along with the rear lights and one rear doorcard.

Plans for tomorrow are to fit front seats, all doorcars, glovebox and give my gsi alloys and the engine bay a good clean. I think we might be making a start on fitting the engine this saturday

Btw anyone got any ideas on what to do with the old cables that went to the boot for the wiper an wash wipe etc?

Heres some new pics:

yup flush boot = use wires for solenoid,

then u can use the rear wipe stalk to open the boot, put it on and it'll click the lock then wait a few secs for it to click again and open

i used that method, its quite good, and save the need for a button

Got bored so went out and did some cleaning, cleaned the gsi alloys that im gona stick on and the front suspension, under the bonnet, and the front bumper and grill. No pics of clean engine bay for now though as it was too dark.

Clean stuff:

One cleaned strut, one uncleaned.

Here the engine that im gona stick in.

And here's a pic of the superchip c20 xe ecu i have in my room, wish it was for the 1.6 engine

And here's the frog i saw in my garden that distracted me for a while.

Well today i put it back on its wheels as had to get the black one infront of it as its going to a better place on wednesday. I did kill my back right enough. its soo painful. Had to lift a c20 xe, a x16 xe block and gearbox and a 1.8v engine to get the cars moved.

I fitted the grill aswell. I personally think it looks really good the now.

No need to paint the rear drums

Soo many stupid wee bits and pieces:

Tow rope hooked up:

Parked out in the street:

Black one half way out:

Black one parked:

Count the Corsas:

Couldnt get the front seats in today as i dont have the right torx bit, will be done in the next few days though.
