Can they do anything else other than transfer some money into your account?

ie use it to buy stuff for themselves, or evn get money from it?

Worst they could do is set up a standing order for maybe a credit check? But the credit check would probably decline due to the fact that the names are not the same

Dont think so

Every where online or shops usually use card number

You defo cant extract money in a bank without ID

But.. some people can do anything these days

They could check your details.. but unlikely as every bank should ask security Qs

dont you have to sign for dd's?

dd's was my main concern

But you went through a credit check, that would've failed if details didn't match up

wouldnt worry mate but a card reader is a 2 second swipe and they have all the info they need even your address
you can even buy them off ebay so all it takes is some scag head in the local tesco to be on the fiddle and you sh1t out

They need the 3 digit code on the back of the card, if they're trying to buy online.

So whats stopping anyone doing the same if you send them a cheque, it has these details + your signature on it!!

i gave a 'company' who said they had a part for my corsa my details including security number who turned out to be fraudsters.. spend 130 quid of my money. i go tthe money refunded though.

but the guy must have been a bit of a plonker, spent the 130 quid on phone credit and got traced by the fraud investigation team fooL!

every site i've used to buy things online have asked for my security code so i guess its just a few left that aren't.
