Everyone is all talk, so much interest in my car but not even one view since I lowered the price. Driving it has put a smile on my face and im so tempted to keep it right now, even sourced a new door and boot, and with the money I saved I could drop it, get new alloys or s2 steels and pug sport maybe even a 4-2-1. So so tempting. Its that or keep on and hopefully sell and buy a gti or s2 rallye but thats scraping the barrel.

s1 rallyes are cooler than s2s imo.
keep the pug mate, youve already stripped it etc. keep it
or just put a peugeot GTI engine in it

I was thinking whatever car I get il kill the current engine on my next track day and drop a 16v in lol.
Even if I did keep the car think the interior would have to go back in though.

well i say keep, if you've ever been like me you don't appreciate a car until it's gone. When its gone you regret the sale. Keep it a truly make it your own. (Just wish i could do the same with the cupra )

Yep not half indecisive
Bit mad spending £££'s on a car you paid £800 for, its what 12/13yrs old not....it will never be perfect. If you like it keep it but I wouldnt spend silly amounts on it!!
Like my Golf, its a 91 plate, cost me £400, wheels were almost £300 I was thinking 'wait a minute' while buying them, theres lots more Id like to do (& have the money to do) but it will still be a 91 vw golf so im not going to!! Hopefully get a cheap fun car for under a grand

Do everything you could in your power to make that mk2 mint. Get rid of it to me, and not slag my car off for being yellow. It is the manufacturers fault, not the cars

Ideally id like:
VR6 engine/gearbox etc
Rotrex supercharger
Full custom stainless exhaust inc manifold.
Coilovers, whiteline arb, powerflex shoit etc
16x9" BBS LM split rims.
Buckets & rest of interior retrimmed to match with Audi TT dash.
Erm thats for starters........silly when you think about how much that would cost on a £400 car though

I dont think its silly at all. A car is a car, if you want to do up an older car its no different to me.

exactly beautiful motor like a s1 rallye or a mk2 golf deserves to be restored.
my mate had a GSi all he did was make it mint and put it on its belly on coilovers.
he has a rolling shell of a golf that he will restore.
he likes to keep his cars mint. and i would mind making my sport mint

Restoring is one thing, mine needs an engine rebuild which is getting done in my spare time....but that is as far as im prepared to go. No matter how much I spend its not going to be worth much more so going crazy & spending £k's is not my thing, id rather keep dreaming & retain my money in the bank tbh, keep the car going until its either scrap or im bored of it & sell on. Thats what im about these days, value for money!
