It's prob been said in this thread before but I was speed reading so no doubt missed it.... You get supporters like this with all clubs! You don't have to come from the area to support them- that's an absolutely ludicris idea and no doubt a tad narrow minded to contemplate. Obviously you do get your "glory hunter" supporters- and these can be local as well as from a distance. A perfect example of this is Reading since they got promoted into the premiership last season! If they weren't doing so well how many of the "fans" will still be supporting them next season if they were relegated? Exactly. And just cos someone like Marc goes to see York all the time doesn't mean he HAS to support them- he obviously has his own personal reasons for supporting ManU (as everyone does for whatever team they support). Up until last season I went to all my local teams home games (but now they play at leighton buzzard and due to work and other commitments I can't go as often) still doesn't mean I have to support them instead of Chelsea.

can't be arsed to read all this plastic fan don't fan bullshit. just because people chose to not spend there months wages going to watch football doesn't mean they don't have an interest in the sport.

I go to Uni in Manchester, I was born close enough to Anfield that Id practically hit my head on the Kop if I fell out of bed

Plus all my family are from Liverpool and both sides have always been massive Liverpool fans.

In that case you should not like football all together.

The reason people have issues with not supporting teams where you are from is because back in the day before any of us were born probably and tv and radio didn't cover eveything people supported a local team because that is what they knew and it was good for the community etc.

Given the fact community no longer exists and the skill and technique involved and show of amazing players across differing clubs it's unsuprising people will support teams from non-local reas./

That is all
