I have seen the perfect job, I have the relevant commercial experience and its an area that interests me very much.

The only problem is, it's advertised through an agency online and states that they are looking to recruit ASAP. I don't graduate until July but I know that this job has been advertised for over a month now.

I'm tempted to apply just incase either they don't fill this position, or another position comes up when i'm available, but i'm worried that as soon as I contact an agency and tell them i'm not available until late July, they will just ignore me.

What shall I do?

Contact them. You've got nothing to loose right?

And in any case, jobs in your field of work pop up all the time.

If it's a proper agent then this won't be the case. I've been to interviews on the Friday and started the following Monday.

Right, going to apply.

When I write my covering letter, should it be aimed at the company or the agency?

I work for an agency, and if someone applies for a job they usually write it to the company, but the agency will see it.

They can usually put you on hold if there's possitions coming and going all the time!

Yeah but I want this company to be aware of me and my skills as I suit the role perfectly IMO.

I would rather they passed my details onto the company than threw them in the bin.

The CV is the things whats essential. If you don't have a good enough CV you won't get the job. Make sure you include everything in a CV. And big gaps in your history is a no no, and so is loads of jobs in a small amount of time.

Write it to the agency, if they think you suit the job role they will reformat your cv and send it to the company. There is about a 1% chance of your covering letter being passed on to the company.

Most recruiters skip the covering letter becuase its the cv that holds the information they want.
