E16SE but there are two types, the one found in the GTE is slightly different to the one in the GSi.

Do you know what the differences are between the GSi and the GTE?

Slight power difference, but generally not much between them. Different fuel system (Motronic (?) and Jetronic). One doesn't have an AF meter.

The C16SE run a bosch injection and management system
The E16SE run a Siemens injection and management system.

If you buy a H plate Nova GSi - it actually has a E16.

early gsi's are best! better engine and no cat!

Your confusing the C16SE & E16SE, C16SE has a coil pack and doesn't have a AFM like you say.

But there are slight difference between the early E16SE and the later E16SE, the difference escape me at the moment, totally gone.
