For mhd lights cant you just put that sticker thing on the glass for mots??
My mate had some lights on his mk4 golf and thats all he had to do.

they aren't illegal are they? i thought they would just fail on an MOT? in that case just swap to standards lights once a year, not hard at all..

but being LHD, the beam wont be as good as a RHD unit

I've just got Depo's, fitted them with some Halfords 'Brilliance' bulbs and I'm really pleased with them. Lighting is slightly patchy though. I might not have the right bulbs in. (H4 12v 60/55w)

My fk's light up the road better than my mum's standard headlights, and as far as i am aware i havn't been blinding people so far 
Before i adjusted them they were pretty pants though.
I used the adjusters on the right one to point down from traffic on the other side of the road, and pulled the horizontal adjuster out of the left one so it lights up the kerb 
Will try and get a picture of the beam if anyone is interested?
