engine and box would be about 1500 quid, conversion kit would be another 500, as would the LSD, then you'd need exhaust, brakes, suspension, Phase chips (Probably Phase 4 to get a true 350bhp) phase 4 needs new injectors, oil spray jets and some other bits.
You're talking 5-6k plus the car.

OR, you could buy SteveWs Phase 3 engine with a new F28 on it, with conversion kit for 2k, then spend the rest of the 4k on suspension, brakes and LSD.

buy a car which has failed mot and no tax, that's the easiest and cheapest way of getting an engine.
I got a cally t for 750, and after splitting the car i made 400 back. So the engine cost me 350, and it only failed on a bit of welding, with fvsh. Can't beat that.

If the engine has been built with the right bits, the price of new injectors and phase 4 chips.

I'm kinda not sure if i'm wanting to buy something then improve it or just build one. I'm not very good at getting in about cars so building it wouldn't be as much fun as it seems to be with you's guys

I would still need to do suspension and brakes.

spec for a 350 bhp would be on the more expensive side of things..
from a standard engine you would need the following:
Steel Conrods
Arp's
Low compression pistons
oil spray nozzles
uprated oil pump
uprated oil cooler
heavy duty bearings
steel head gasket
head stud conversion
Different cams be it XE or SBD cams
Larger injectors over 500cc
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Bigger turbo (more than likely a T34 or similar)
Tubular manifold
3" exhaust system
Large Front mounted intercooler
Enlarged Piping (minimum 60mm)
Managment (i wouldnt recomend Phase chips to be honest and would go stand alone)
Uprated clutch..
your looking at £5000 plus on parts alone to be honest
