Went to PACT animal sanctuary yesterday. They had loads there
I couldnt beleive the woman when she said they only rehome on average 4 a year

Anyway there was a lonely girl whos partner had recently died so we are gonna be having her to keep my male company after the all clear from the home visit

Anyone who is looking to get a chinchilla think about rehoming one before paying expensive pet shop prices

p.s im going to name her Missy and she is beige

Yes they had a pair of whites too im tempted but would mean either rehoming the rat or getting another cage or maybe downsizing the rats cage

I want them all

The cage i have mine in at the minute can be split into two

I am gonna get him done then wait a few weeks for the hormones to settle then have them in the same cage but split and then swap them over after a week so they get used to the scents ect

I reckon they will get on ok but if not they will prob be happy to be in the same cage but split for as long as it takes. They will get used to each other in the end, chinchillas love company

When we got our second chinchilla (We had the daughter and then got the mum after dad did a runner out the back door forever) it took ages to introduce them. We had cages side by side for 2 weeks then started letting them out round the house together. Put them in each others cages like you said then introduced them both into the larger of the cages. They fought like hell. In the end we bought a brand new cage all new food bowls and water bottles, houses and toys. Threw them in and they were fine

I got the brand new 3 tier cage for 80 quid. Plenty of room for them both. Cleaned the old cages up really well and the local pet shop bought them for 30 quid
