So what happens/are the consequences of not plumbing the actuator into the compressor housing?
Tyring to understand exactly how a turbo works as i'm installing a T3 on my S2 rallye....any help/info muchos appreciated.

You don't need to plumb it into the compressor housing, it's the exhaust housing you need it in, and with an external wastegate, you don't need one on the turbo at all.

Pretty sure actuator plumbs into compressor housing, and controls wastegate on exhaust housing....well...judging by all the photos ive been looking at?

Nope, there's a lever on the exhaust housing which it connects to.

Or at least there was on the Garrett T3 I had.

Yes, i know where the actuator attaches to, but i was referring to where its PLUMBED into...the compressor housing

if you dont connet the vac pipe on the actuator it will boost it nads off ... which is good if its been set up for it .. but meltdown if it hasnt .. or the ecu will cut the fuel to stop it melting
