Ive got about 5 months left at uni. Once I finish, I'm after a new car, bigger than my Corsa, 2 litre+ engine, NOT French. I'll have roughly £2500 to spend and dont want to spend more than £500 or so on insurance (im 23 with 5 years no-claims). I'm thinking of either a Senator 3 litre and modding it or a standardish Carlton GSi3000. Then there's always a Cav GSi. Has anyone got any other ideas? I want something fairly rapid! Thank you!

Not sure really...my Dads always had Carltons. I guess its an ambition I've always had! If someone can come up with better suggestions, I'm willing to consider them. A Vectra was also in the back of my mind. I'll be doing aroud 40 miles a day for a year, so I want something reliable and something which could look 'cool' (for want of a better word) with minimal work and money e.g wheels and uprated suspension etc.

Lol, I know, thats why I've had to ask for advice! I'll only be on about £10,000 next year, but once I'm a qualified Optometrist (Optician) I'll be on roughly £35,000 straight away, hence my need for a cheap fast car for 12 months, then I'll be upgrading to a 'proper' machine!

Lol erm...not really, cos he's an accountant Fast, fun and reliable is what I want....especially after having a 1.2 8V Corsa for the past 6 years!
