hey,
fitted my standard lights again and removed the lexus lights...right hand side light is functioning perfect although the left side seems to be very temperamental...is it correct that the reverse light on the left light should light up when i open the boot? not completely lit but jst dimmed...

No it shouldn't do that. Probably a bad earth.

worked fine with my lexus lights, pretty much disconnected the plug n put it in2 the standard light instead - how can i resolve the bad earth problem?

Have the standard lights just been sat in a garage or shed?
If so there could be some rust on the connections. Check them and check the wiring that goes to the lights.
