yes, ET38 18s with 40 profile tyres will DEFNITELY rub.

You'll need to trim the metal away from the reaar arch, trim the plastic bit away a bit too and de-bolt the arches. On the front you'll need to fuck the splash gaurds off and de-bolt the front plastic arches. Shouldn't catch too much at the front apart from going round corners. The rear isn't so easy to give a definate answer - trial and error is required.

No, the stuff you need to do to get them to fit is a bit permentant for fucking about. I used a hammer to fit mine
