Just drove through town on my way home and a golf gti wanted a play

Now the DV sounded a lot louder so presume its chipped as it had exhaust and RS8 wheels

Got to say it gave a good fight

Quite a nippy car and obviously less lag as it uses the K03 turbo

how they hear ur standard DV at that distance..

also thought 1.8T engines couldnt take aftermarket DV's as it causes idle problems etc..

By fitting an air filter and removing the engine cover the standard vw dv can be heard.
And you can fit an aftermarket dv to golf gti's without tripping the recirculation sensor.

VTA valves are blow off dvs which will trip an engine recirc fault but if you get a bailey or forge recirc dv there will be no fault problem

Thats if i remember what i was told properly. Might be talking a load of rubbish!

i put a pipercross open filter on for about 3 days!!! Just to see the difference in noise, performed shit (boost dropped off rapidly due to heat soak) but sounded good, everyone related to vags say blow off valves are gay / chav, this is purely cos a true blow off valve cannot be put on the 1.8 20vt lump!!!! It's not chav, it's for a reason, no one looks at a 1000bhp supra and says it think it's chav as it has a dv do they????

Sorry to go on but it really windes me up!!!!

DV is diveter valve and the VAG 1.8 turbo's are non atmospheric thus do not dump pressure as loud as say a cossie etc

Although forge have just relaesed a part atmospheric valve

not the only company that have this, i still want to know how they've got round it?? If it's releasing pressure into the atmosphere then surely it'll fuck up eventually, but i have heard of people using atmospheric dump valves on the 20vt lump with no probs at all!!! Anyway it's a boring argument and one i've had far too many times!!!
