want to upgrade my 1.4 16v, who had a 1.6 when they were 18 and how much did it cost for the insurance? 1 years experience, no accidents or points

not very helpfull but mines 966.66 but its insured as 1.4 so add a bit onto that but all depends where ya from n all the rest of it allways diff for diff ppl

im guesing its a 1.6, but you cant tell the difference by looking, so its ok

no its not ok. if you are in an accident, and the car is looked over by an assessor, the first thing he will do is write down the VIN and Engine numbers, and when he notices that they do not correspond to the vehicle type, bye bye insurance

Had my 1.4 SRi insured TPFT for £1485 at 17 - Frizzell
Had my 1.6 Sport insured TPFT for £850 at 18 - Quinn Direct (that was Sept 2006)

this happened to a mate who just swapped engines in an xr2i. same 1.6 engine but the old one blew up, police weren't to understanding!!!

Me twice, and a punto GT and Saxo VTS 
Corsa about 1k Punto and VTS about 1.4k and that was 18 no NCB

when i was 18 i had a saxo 1.6vtr paid 700 f/c but girls always get it really cheap!
oh and it was with bell
