Choice appears to be down to those now; ca £15k to spend but would spend less on Clio and go for mk2 shape

pros/ cons of all please
anyone with experience of these and what to look out for as I'm off to see one of each this weekend

if you can get the 190bhp vvti engined elise i'd get that. i would of thought it'd be alot more economical than the clio, and a fair bit quicker in all aspects, cons of all three are impracticality so thats nothing to worry about!!!

According to JC the elise understeers

VX appears best value (cheaper to insure/run etc) so thats kind of leading but there sint a big difference in running costs - as said I'm seeing one of each this weeekend all being well!

Unless you want a track car then I would go for the Clio V6 just cos it looks mad And also will have a few extra comforts over the other 2 i.e. a solid roof

I think the pro's and cons are probably similar for all three tbh, depends on what you like best / newest and lowest mileage for your £££££.

VX220, i'd have to have the turbo only...
V6 Clio, rather dissapointing performance wise, but looks superb..

Giving that you said NA 220, i'd have to say go for the highest powered NA Lotus you can...

I love the Elise but only cuz there is a lotus/tvr dealer in my highstreet pass them everyday!

I would say dont go for V6 for the simple reason if you buy one it HAS to be the newer shape version but its out of your budget!

If you're looking for a cheap car to run you are going down the wrong road mate But I'd go for the Elise, and as said, try to get the 1.8 vvti one.

mk2 clio v6 is sooo much nicer than either of those imo.

All good drivers cars though, probably cheaper to maintain the vx or elise (no evidence just my opinion).
