Dad is looking at getting the private plate, V6 XTR which is available on numerous website, as it must be DVLA owned.
Anyway, I thought I'd jump on here and check it just out of curiosity. And apparently it is assigned to some Nissan 4x4.

Hmmm I would think NewReg.com would be instant though, especially as he would have probably bought online.
Also, M6 BMW is assigned to a pretty retro M5
V6 VXL is on a 2.5 V6 Vectra though - lucky bastard.

A lot of number plate sites don't have the plates they advertise them then if there's interest they contact the owner.
My dad's plate is on New Reg I think it was but it's on my dad's car and he owns it.

I fear my dad may be pretty disappointed.
I stand corrected, V6 XTR is not available on the DVLA site, but NewReg might own it - they own what I want, D3 ANK.

If its any site apart from the DVLA site they will probably be selling it on behalf of someone!!!
i.ie. Joe Blogs emails newregtransfers saying he wants to sell a plate, they respond telling him its worth £400, he agrees, they stick it on their site for £600, you dad asks to buy it, they contact the owner telling him they have a buyer - money changes hands the deal is done!!! Any unsighned plates are on the DVLA site & cheaper!!! If you buy one available the dvla holds via another company, they buy it from the dvla then add a mark up on the price & sell it to you!!! Thats how these places work!!
