basically my dad got a speeding fine and 3 points a few months back.
He sent off his license with the money for the fine
dvla sent him a receipt back with the license, problem is he sent them a duplicate one accidently which he had when he lost his original license but later found.
the letter from dvla said he must send his original license within four weeks
well due to christmas and work ect he completey forgot and he just got a letter from dvla saying they still need the proper one, but they are revoking the license at the end of the month, he can then drive for 12 months after that date.
i dont understand, what do they mean revoking, can he not drive again

friend of mine had his licence revoked.. as i understand it.. it means that current licence is scrapped and you have to apply for a new one from the dvla and cant drive till it arrives

cheers for that mate, i will ring them though the letter does say he can drive for 12 months after the license is revoked. but coz we have never had anything like this before we werent sure if he was having his license taken away permanently, to our shock
but hopeing like you say we can just get another one through the post
