Hes just traded his 03 VW Golf V6 4 Motion in for a 6 month old VW Touran 2.0 TDi Sport DSG (140ps). I can't say its really what I would have chose though and I was hoping he would get either the Astra VXR or the ST. The one hes got is an ex VW demo car so has 17" alloys and tints fitted. His main reason for buying it is because he wants to put his mountain bike in it when he goes biking, buying a car to accomodate a bike!

Putting me on the insurance he says though, can't see me using it much!! Not too sure on this DSG box either! Its a normal auto unless you put it in Sport mode and you flick the lever to the left and just shift up and down.

Drove a TDi A3 with that gearbox and I dont think its suited to diesels. Lets it rev too much.

Shame. I worked at vw for two years and one of those cars is one of my favourites and the other isn't.

Not impressed with the mountain bike sheeit surly it would be a better idea to get a good car & a cycle rack

Although in saying that my dad bought an estate so the dog would have enough room in the boot

Is the gearbox on it the same as the one on Audi tiptronics? If it is, it's shit. It's scary shit.

I think they are all pretty much one and the same. They just keep changing the name every now and then maybe

DSG is a double clutched manual box iirc.

Tiptronic is an automatic with manual override developed by Porsche.
