hi i have got a straight through stainless centre section on my corsa 1.6 16v,with a stainless powerflow backbox,thinking of a de cat next which will make it even louder,it is very loud as it is,any1 know of any quieter back boxes so that i dont get pulled,want a nice rumble to it and popping,banging but not soooooo loud!!

well i only got an ashley backbox on mine and it does it pretty loud, probably another problem with the car

I had a decat pipe and magnex exhaust on my 1.6 sport, sounded good, not too loud but nice rumble..

never popped and banged though..........

my old xe with decat and full magnex used to pop for the fun of it...

but it was over fueling like fuck

When I 1st got my Xe had no middle box etc or decat straight through exhaust with BB...Fook me that was loud..Fitted a astra middle box in it and made it better, still loud though......

my xr2i had a 4-2-1 manifold and a full straight through it was very loud used to pop flames out when changing gear at higher revs

If its powerflow its easy take it back and tell them to put a booster pipe in they come in different lengths (the longer the quieter) I went to 4 different powerflow dealers and had 2 different boosters and practically a whole new exhaust untill I was happy with the sound! (didnt cost me anything)

cheers ppl am now thinking of side exit exhausts and the bloke from ets was goin on about u have to cut some of the sill away to stop hitting speed bumps :S its lowered 40 mm on 15s then he was sayin get 17s on it to make it higher n u will get away without cutting the sills :S hmm would look proper custom though

You can get a silenced decat pipe. Will just have baffles in it. Noise wont change but it will have the performance of a decat, and may pop more due to it being better flowing.

My exhaust is loud, i have a decatted powerflow system,

Its raspy but deep at the same time and i think it sounds well when booted.
