Pros of an RST-

Turbo, hence easier and cheaper to get good gains from and more fun

Cons-

Older, more problems to be had - probably less reliable

Pros of a GTI-

Newer, more comfortable

Cons-

More common, less wow factor, limiting.

£2.5k is unfortunately what you have to spend though it seems, and most of them are going rusty. Its going to be abit of a challenge.
