me and a mate were goin to our local town to show off his new evo4. he turned 21 today.
he has had the car for about a month and its just been sitting in his garage untill today! as he can onl get insured when hes 21. on our way to town, his cambelt decides t give up! we were only doin about 40 in 4th gear! and it just went!
how gutted would u b if this happened to u on ur 21st?

never heard of it lol. get yaself in the ea section lol.

hope ya mate can get the evo sorted out. my mate used to have an imported evo4 but had to sell as was too much to run!

i aint been amember long, dont know how to get in the ea section! lol. this is an import, its restricted to 5500 rpm too. not good.

urm well it didnt sound too harsh! just lost all power and the engine sounded like a skeleton havin a wank in a biscuit tin. lol

probably just bent a few valves! hopefuly.

Recent import? How many miles? IMHO with any import that runs a belt you should ALWAYS have it changed at the time of mot/sva. Expensive lesson to learn though, hopefully not done too much damage

Good chance to sort some internals out, E4/5 engines were weaker than the 6 onwards so might be worth him having a look on the MLR at some new bits

its still on warenty, so hes gunna get performance internals paid by the garage!

its got a bosch cambelt on it atm. would this b a standard one or not? its done 52k?

Not sure TBH, but they should be changed around 35k IIRC. Has it had a cambelt change at any point?

not sure, it was only imported a few months ago.no history at all! the previous owner didnt trake much care off the bodywork so he prob didnt give a shite about the engine either!

Eek should have really had it done mate Only reason I didn't when I imported my 350z is because they are chain driven but it's the first thing I would have done.

obviously it would have been wise, but he just wanted to get his new toy on the road. lol i got another mate thats got an evo 3 with nearly 600bhp ill get the pics of his graph, and his santa pod results tonight! its scary stuff! it realy is an animal
