Because they wear out in about 3 miles.

Had T1-R's, now got 888's. Top top tyres, wear quickly but offer fantastic grip in dry and wet conditions. Although I can light up all 4 tyres in the wet pretty easily they hold the road brilliantly.
Edit to say commenting on the 888s not had T1 R's on a proper car so can't comment

I liked mine. Wore away far too fast tho! Not too good in the wet either
I'm running Goodyear Eagle F1's at the moment - And I like them a lot!

888s last about 4-5000 miles average (semi slick soft compound). Would hazard a guess the T1s should last 8,000 - 10,000 no problems?

iv had t1's and so have loads of other mates and have found them very good in the dry but next to near lethal in the wet. T1'r's are a different ball game and are very good all round.
Both of the above tyres wear very quickly.
Im pretty sure this thread will finish up as it normally does with Uniroyal Rainsports for the wet and Eagle F1's being stated as the best all rounders. hope this helps

Mine have been fine as far as mileage is concerned. (12k on the front and counting...)
They are ok in the dry but they don't fill me with confidence in the wet.

i got t1's about a week ago, as they were cheap and had t1-r's on and rated them highly. It's been mostly wet since i got them and i've had no problems at all. They were 31 quid off camskill so if they do wear fast (the t1-rs did) then it's not the end of the world.
