My budgets been set at about £2000ish

well ive decided to leave it a month, or dreaded maybe 2months..
to save a little more and buy perhaps a

Civic 1.6 vti (160bhp?)
i hear they're quite tunable aswell?

Have a mad a good choice, want something thats nippy, reliable and nice looking..

This car seems to fall in all of the above...

and its only group 15 insurance

Don't think you can get a GOOD condition VTi for that price. I looked a while back, most have been abused/thrashed to death

they're as tunable as anyother NA engine, although with some simple breathing mods they respond well.

everyone ive spoke to goes on about Civic VTi's and think they are the fastest thing on the road. I think its got alot to do with the noise they make in V-tec. which is something else.

I can get by most VTi civics and Del sol's with usual mods. but its is a close thing.

bad thing with VTi's and Type R's is they may have 160bhp+ but the the torque figures are not too good.

Nice cars tho...

In the valver?
if its close then im happy with something that performs that well against a valver, I just like the fact that they're reliable and the insurance isnt too bad..

trying to find some spec on them

Was this car bought off someone called Martin by any chance? VTi's are quick and very tunable!

0-60 in just over 8 seconds it'll do 120+. If it is the import then I've found it very hard to get independent performance figures for this.

The UK and Ireland 1.6 Dohc VTEC will do 0-60 7.7sec and 130 mph flat out.

Also depends how long you plan on keeping the car for. Just bolt-on's if your going to sell within a year or so, if its going to be long term, Throttle Bodies or a turbo conversion work wonders
