i had my mot and service done and the vaux garage recommended on the sheet that 1. couldnt replace air filter due to K&N etc which is fair enough but the next one confussed me??! 2. Advise modified gear linkage.
wot do they mean by that?

i take its a corsa c, if so theres a modified gearlinkage avaliable because the ones on the early corsa c break easily, they recalled them and theres a modified one avaliable. some of the plastic bits on the linkage are replaced with metal parts on the new one so its better. thats what they mean probably

i think the complete linkage is £75 (trade) but you can buy part of the linkage (only the part that breaks) for less, but they advise fitting complete linkage. its only essential if and when it breaks as it becomes hard or impossible to select 1st gear mainly but others become notchy and reverse is impossible as thats where 1st ends up. so if and when it goes yes, some go some dont.

The linkage repair kit (which is the full linkage) is £38.

oh, cheers joe  dont know where ive had 75 from, maybe thats what we charge all in with labour. cheers for correcting me though
