Im not being funny mate but it is probably the correct thing to do, if these go on you it can cause a lot of damage to the engine, getting mine done today, just for peace of mind, it has all the service history etc just so i know i done it,
How much they quoting?

but that doesn't mean the car isn't roadworthy though
these are the checks of an MOT test:

Sounds about right. Should get a cambelt kit which includes tensioner and idler pulleys if it has any. Easy to replace cambelts on 1.2 8v.

They are just doing you a favour by mentioning it, they won't have been trying anything funny. Replacement should be every 40,000 miles so if it has'nt had one should be done soon.

yeh i know but thats what they say, the 8v engines only have 1 roller/tensioner so there is less wearing items, theres never normally a prob with the belts wearing its the rollers that break up when they're not changed, for the sake of £100 get it changed mate.
