yer, i wud imagine they'd be a bus straight there, or you could get a bus to Durham, then its a 10min ride on the train. what you coming up this neck of the woods for? if u dont mind me asking that is.

o right, sorry too hear mate. i aint ever been to newcasle for a night out. ive just had a look at the bus time tables for you, it looks like youd either had too get a bus too sunderland and then a metro train too newcastle or either a bus too durham then a train to newcastle

It's a pain in the arse to get to on public transport mate, a serious pain in the arse.
You're better off just paying for a taxi and it'll take you 20 minutes.
Thursday night is good for Indie choons if that's your thing.
It's called Stone Love which is in Digital right near the train station.
Will cost you about 30/35quid back to Houghton Le Spring after a night out.

easier to get to durham for a night out from houghton le spring.
if you get a bus into sunderland and then a metro to newcastle it will take about an hour. but Newcastle is a lot better/ busier than durham but durham is full of students (are they back yet? )

Houghton le spring is inbetween Durham & Sunderland so choose either one for a night out
