I bought my Corsa Around the beginning of December but when i bought it my mate didnt Have the logbook from the previous owner (His sisters Boyfriend) who has said he had lost it after promising he would get it to me soon, How do i get a new One from the DVLA? What kind of proof will i need that i own the car?

You can apply for a new one from the DVLA. I think you need the previous owners details, as they'll write to them and ask is they still have the car. Easy sorted though, think it costs around £19.

u dont need the previous owners details, just go to ur local post office and get the form, and yea as quoted bout 19 quid.

Yeah its £19 I've got this problem my car is out of tax and I can't even tax it without the log book, what would I do if I get pulled about it I've sent of my details about the car n stuff????

you shouldnt get pulled because you shouldn't be driving it without tax!

Am still drivin it got no choice not my fault the post office won't let me buy a tax disc

Erm, i think you'll find it is your fault, cause your not legally allowed to buy a car without the V5 logbook being present.

Yeah the old owner had the v5 but the dick has never sent it off rung the DVLA and everything and they not recieved anything, I know its my fault i've lost the lil green slip from it but I need a car so still going to drive it until the DVLA send me my log book, then I'll buy tax

they will fine you regardless of wherther you get caught if the car has not been declared off the road
