Mmm... Only really on the engine side of things... Plus they hold their money well.
Ok... 6.5K
Its probably a bit off your line of thought but a 172 is a lot of fun... not as much temptation to do stuff... doesn't matter if it gets dinked... but it is French and held together with plastic clips

I'd definately go with the E36 M3, best all rounder really, its reliable, fast and looks impressive but I think the M3 evo's are group 19 insurance but if thats not a problem then

M3 is group 20. Problem with them is that 99% are dogs. To get a decent one with proper history etc I think you'd be looking at around the £7500 mark. I've given up buying an E46 M3 - Even a lot of those aren't 'right' - poor history, condition, high mileage etc.

i would rather have a e39 540i aswell i think, only problem is there seems to be more m5s for sale.
what about the non evo m3? they are abit cheaper and still very quick, my mate has a well looked after one fsh etc and i think he paid 5k for it. and its only a new ecu and exhaust away from evo power

Are you selling the Golf?
Go for an E34 M5 3.8 Mark. Much cheaper to insure than the M3 Evo, and a better car in many ways.
You can get them in that funky purple that Jambo likes too.

My mate just sold his E36 Evo, was a fucking mint car, Estoril Blue Coupe with the Silver Vadar Leather.
Erm what to check.......make sure the gearbox is ok esspecially 1->2nd gear as a couple we looked at crunched & even came out of gear. Brakes can cost a bit to have overhauled. The Double Vanos system is also a big repair if it gets chocked up - if its been well looked after & had plenty oil services at the correct time it shouldnt let you down.
Cant think of anything else really
