I didnt set my sound system up it was already in it when i got the car

But the amp is always on even when the car is off.
Drains my battery like mad unless i disconnect the wire everytime

It doesnt have a remote wire though, thinking this is the problem. Am i right

yeh you need a remote cable other wise the car will be sending power to it all the time. get one and you sorted
