Why do people find the need to put them on cars and even funnier standard cars?

There is a 5 door corsa i keep spotting which has crap rims. pre 97 bumper and a square number plate on the front

think it looks daft

i liked the one i had on my calibra... Soooooooooooo illegal tho it untue..

i had a 3/4 size on my black corsa which was ok

been stoped with mine a few times got a small 1 on the front of my corsa so far just get a 30quid fine and a copper giving me a leacture on them being illegal etc.
it has been on there for bout 4 years and ive had 2 30quid fines not 2 bad haha
