mk4 astra sri 2.2? fiesta zetec s? thats about all i can think of on that budget and you wanting it 5 years old max. unless you would be happy with the 1.4's and 1.6's in standard trim

206 gti, saxo vts, xsara vts, astra mk4 can go on for a bit if u want, sighn up to atotre and put 3-4k under 5 years and theres pages after pages

well lets say engine size 1.8 max and insurance group no higher then 13.
also reliability and reasonable fuel economy would be nice.
i quite like golfs , but they tend to be quite expensive, and tbh they arent that quick are they

I wouldnt have a small car. Id use the 3-4k for a deposit on a bigger car or put it in the bank for a house. After selling my Corsa I am never buying another small car
